Top Wedding Trends 2016

It seems as though the New Year just started, but 2016 is already flying by. If you are an upcoming bride (congratulations!) you’ll want to be sure to check out what’s hot in 2016. Everything from cathedral length veils to floral prints to bright, bold colors can give your wedding a stylish look. Find out how you can incorporate these trends into your big day.

  1. Metallics: Get your shine on this year. Metallic colors are in for decorations, accessories, and apparel. Spice up your reception venue with shiny table cloths that add a pop of color. Make your bridal party shine with metallic bridesmaid dresses in gold, silver, and rose gold (or a combination of all three)! Want to add shimmer to your bridal look? Go for a sparkly veil. For just a hint of sparkle, choose a short veil. Opt for a sparkly cathedral veil if your bridal glow just isn’t enough shine for you.
  1. Going Green: With the climate changing an ever present conversation and people often opting for eco-friendly alternatives to products, why not extend this practice to your wedding day? Plan a farm to table reception if your caterer allows, keeping all your foods organic and hormone free. Order ethically made products for everything from your décor to your favors. Looking for a sustainable wedding favor? Give the gift that keeps on giving by gifting guests seed packets. These flat sheets are small and can be printed on to customize them for your wedding, When guests go home and plant them, the flowers they turn into will be a beautiful reminder of your wedding day.
  1. Floral Prints: While flowers at weddings are always in, flowers on dresses and even floral wedding veils are the next big thing. Dress bridesmaids in large, floral patterns or smaller, subtler flower print dresses. Floral dresses can help set the color scheme of your wedding, just pull out the solid colors of the flowers and use them as accent colors throughout the day, or as the flowers of your bouquet/centerpieces.
  1. Mismatched Looks: Gone are the days of being required to match your wedding party perfectly. In fact, if all your bridesmaids want to wear different color dresses of different lengths, tell them to go right ahead. This trend extends to the bride and groom themselves too. If the groom wants to wear jeans and a jacket but the bride wants a ball gown and lace cathedral veil then so be it. Matching is not required. Being comfortable and happy is.
